Best London Travel Cards & Passes for Tourists

Transport costs add up quickly, but the right pass can save money. Here are the main options for visitors.

Oyster Card

A prepaid card used on Tube, bus, DLR, Overground and some trains. Add credit and top up as needed. Daily caps apply.

Contactless

Most international debit/credit cards work. Same fares and caps as Oyster, but no need to buy a separate card.

Travelcards

Paper tickets valid for 1 day or 7 days, covering Zones 1–2 or wider. Good for those without contactless.

Visitor Oyster

Pre-ordered card mailed before travel with discounts at attractions. Handy but not essential.
